If you are a business
The Hero2 program is an opportunity for all businesses and corporations to think globally and act locally while making a positive contribution to the environment.
Through Hero2 corporate projects – protecting, recovering and extending - the ARF works
with industry and businesses on a sustainable environmental investment that not only counters that organisations carbon excess but seeks to be a leveraged investment for everyone.
An ARF Hero2 project must:
- give added value,
- have a positive direct impact on the Australian landscape,
- be measurable and dynamic, and improve with age and
- must leave a positive legacy for the next generation.
For example: ABC Tissues – Our Hero2s
ABC Tissue Products, an Australian owned tissue manufacturer established in Australia in 1985, with manufacturing sites located in NSW, QLD and New Zealand, has a commitment to the continued introduction of manufacturing procedures and policies designed to assist in the future protection of our environment. As part of its corporate strategy ABC is a signatory to the National Packaging Covenant. ABC stands for Australia Better Choice.
In 2007 ABC looked at the value of their environmental brand, Naturale. A toilet tissue
manufactured from recycled white office paper. They believed they had a responsibility to drive the recycled tissue segment to reduce land fill and felt a dynamic branding exercise with the ARF was the best way forward to show their continued commitment to leave only a positive impact on the environment.
ABC Tissues has purchased freehold Daintree rainforest for conservation, extending parts of the mega diverse global treasure through a 4,500 rainforest tree revegetation project and contributing to the operating costs of a cassowary hospital, through a royalty deal between the Foundation and ABC Tissues on product sales.
