With all the fantastic response to Hero2 corporate donations and strategic marketing campaigns, the ARF is working as hard and as fast as it can to finalise the Daintree nursery to ensure that the right trees are available to plant in the right place.

Unfortunately, with the region currently experiencing one of its wettest Wet Seasons on record, rain and yet more rain are throwing a few obstacles in the way of ARF Daintree Caretaker, Adrian Watson and his team of local contractors.

The nursery foundation trenches have been washed away several times since Christmas but the team has been working between storms and at weekends to get on top of things. The foundations are now concreted in and the vertical support poles in place.

Rain is slowing work on the ARF Daintree nursery but progress is still being made.

The team hope to get the shade tunnel erected quickly so a stock of seeds can be germinated and planted out before the wet season ends, hoping to avoid manual watering, which is very labour intensive.
